ISO/PAS 5643:2021, Tourism and related services - Requirements and guidelines for reducing the spread of COVID-19 in the tourism industry, has a broad scope and will assist all service providers in this sector (accommodation, museums, transportation, experiences, activities, and guides) in ensuring service safety and preventing virus spread.

This document establishes requirements and recommendations for tourism organizations to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, protecting the health of their employees from COVID-19, and providing safer tourism services and products to both tourists and residents.
It is designed to help tourism service providers implement best practices for the safety of all and reassure tourists of the effectiveness of the measures in place.

PAS has also been adopted by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) as a European seal for COVID-19 tourism safety, demonstrating its commitment to guidelines and ensuring widespread adoption across the region.
