Subject and Scope:

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 establishes general requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent operation of laboratories, as defined in this standard.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is applicable to all organizations performing laboratory activities, regardless of the number of personnel in the laboratory.

This international standard can also be used by users of laboratory services, regulatory authorities, organizations and schemes using peer-assessment, accreditation bodies, and others when confirming or recognizing the competence of laboratories.
